Cross Creek Plantation’s Facilities Committee, serving on the Transition Advisory Team, and Cross Creek Development have worked together in searching for a Food and Beverage Manager and are proud to announce the search is complete.  Effective March 1, 2010 please welcome Jim Domanico as Food and Beverage Manager overseeing our Clubhouse.

The Golf Season is just around the corner as we march slowly toward Spring! We will kick off the Tournament season with an 18-Hole Mixer on Sunday, February 14th at 1:00pm.The comprehensive Tournament Schedule will be sent in early February. Please note the Club major events that will be listed in this Schedule. We are looking forward to you participating in all these events. We have added Nine and Dine events beginning on Friday, April 23rd starting at 4:30pm that will be played each week that we do not have conflicts with Club major events or Outings.

We wish you a VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR! The weather has played a significant role in limiting opportunities for golf the past few months. In January, we will open the Golf Shop at 8:30am and the first starting time will be 9:00am. Please continue to call for updates on frost and weather delays.

Please remember that we will bill private cart owner fees, handicap fees, and range fees around January 15, 2010. Please notify the Golf Shop Staff if you wish to discontinue any of these services for 2010.

We would like to thank each member who participated in our golf events this season. The final events of the golf season begin November 1st with Super Supper Club starting at 1pm. This event is an 18 Hole Team event with “Supper” served after golf. Ladies Closing Day will be Thursday, November 12th beginning at 10am with a meeting and awards to follow golf. Our season concludes with an 18 Hole Mixer on Sunday, November 15th. The format will be a two person scramble. The Tournament management software system will pick partners. Please call the Golf Shop to sign up for these events.

September was one of the longest rain periods we have experienced in many years. We were lucky not to have had the amounts many of our neighbors received. The rain we did get was, for the most part, easy extended rains which helped the newly seeded areas on the greens. On the downside, this prevented us from our routine mowing, weed control, and various other projects. Hopefully the sun will return and we can get back on schedule.

We are anticipating a beautiful fall season of golf and football. The Fall Mixer will be held Sunday, September 20th at 1:00pm. The format for this event will be Texas scramble. We have a change for the Fall Member-Member this year on October 2nd through 4th. The format will be the 9 Hole Match Around that we use for the Men’s Member-Guest. Matches will begin at 5pm on Friday, October 2nd for the first nine hole match. Matches on Saturday will begin at 9:00am and Sunday at 1pm. There will be six teams in each flight with the better ball scored per hole in a four ball match play format. All players...

We appreciate your participation in the 58th South Carolina Open which was held July 20th through July 23rd. Your efforts in sponsorship and filling the volunteer positions were much appreciated. Billy Anderson of Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, NC shot rounds of 69-65-72-206 to capture the event by one shot over Steve Isley of Oak Island, NC. Low amateur honors were shared by Drew Ernst and Taylor Zimmerman with three day totals of 211 which tied for 4th. Congratulations to Billy and all the participants for their professional conduct and courtesy displayed throughout the tournament.

We look forward to hosting the 58th South Carolina Open from Monday, July 20th through Thursday, July 23rd. We last hosted this event in June of 1997. The field will be comprised of Professionals from North and South Carolina as well as top ranked amateurs from each state. We once again need your help. Volunteer positions will be morning and afternoon shifts. Once the starting field size is determined, we will then be able to designate shift assignments. Ball spotting, scoreboard, transportation, practice facilities, and scoring are most of the areas that Members may assist with for this event. Please call Mark in the Golf Shop to volunteer for the South Carolina Open.

The PGA of America has a new event for which we will host a local qualifier on Saturday, June 13th. The McGladrey Team Championship is a three person, net better ball event with amateurs receiving 75% of their handicap. We must have a minimum of seven (7) teams to send a team to the sectional qualifier in early August. The winning team from our local qualifier will advance to a sectional qualifier at Kiawah Island. The entry fee for the local qualifier is $80.00 per person. The entry fee for the sectional qualifier is $100.00 per player. Each person would be responsible for all of their travel expenses to sectional and national qualifiers. Members are responsible for forming their own team.
