Introducing the Head Chef of Our Amazing Culinary Team at Cross Creek Plantation…Chef Josh Watson
When asked the secret to his success his answer was "you're only as strong as your weakest link and I am surrounded by people who want success, which includes my staff and the members." Josh thanks his staff for being such a remarkable team and coordinating their work so efficiently. He also thanks the members for their support and recognition of him and his staff's efforts.
Josh was born and raised in Easley, SC and when in high school decided to enter into the Culinary Arts program through the local career center. He thought this would be a good way to meet girls but his instructor soon recognized his ability to plan and prepare good food. She urged him to enter the 2001 Culinary State Championship competing against other students throughout the state. He not only won that but went on to the Nationals in Kansas City where he placed in the top ten. That earned him a scholarship to Greenville Tech and from there his career took off.
Josh has worked at the Madren Center, Seasons on the Lake and with Clemson Catering West End Zone where he was sometimes cooking at Midnight for the fans and players. He has also worked at the Reserve at Lake Keowee, Coaches Low Country Boil as Executive Sous Chef and at Southern Wesleyan as Production Manager.
Believe it or not, Josh does have a personal life. He likes to hunt, fish and play an occasional round of golf. His favorite activity is spending time with his son Tucker who will be three in January.
