The golf course is in excellent condition as we prepare for our upcoming events. Super Supper Club will be contested Sunday, November 2nd beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Cross Creek Plantation Pro-Amateur will be held Friday, November 7th. The starting time is 11:00 a.m. and the entry fee is $75 per player. The field is restricted to the first 36 members. Please call the Golf Shop to enter.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in our October events. The Club Championship was contested in mid October with Veta Finch emerging as our Ladies Club Champion and John Warner as our Men’s Club Champion.

The golf course is in excellent condition as we prepare for our upcoming events. Super supper Club will be contested Sunday, November 2nd beginning at 1pm. The Cross Creek Plantation Pro-Amateur will be held Friday, November 7th with the starting time being 11am. The entry fee is $75.00 per player with the field being restricted to the first 36 members. Please call the Golf Shop to enter. We will also host an 18 Hole Mixer on Sunday, November 16th at 1:00pm. We look forward to your participation and look forward to seeing each member in these upcoming events.

Please remember proper attire is required for the golf course and practice facilities. Jogging attire and warm ups are NOT appropriate attire for the Golf facilities.

October is already here and the leaves are everywhere. With the late summer rains, there should be a beautiful showing of fall color.The greens aerifying went very well and recovery of the turf is now almost complete. The cooler September temperatures along with a stronger plant on the greens, has accelerated the healing process. My biggest concern at this time is with the softer surface of the greens. Ball marks are very obvious and repairs of these damaged areas are very inconsistent. Please repair your ball marks.

We would like to thank everyone for their support of our Club events. Please remember that your participation make each of these events successful.

The US Open Qualifier results on Monday, May 19th ended with Michael Sim of Australia shooting 65 on a windy day. His round included a hole in one on Hole #8 from 243 yards. Ben Martin of Greenwood, Peter Tomasulo, a Nationwide Tour player, and Phillip Mollica of Anderson also advanced to Sectional qualifying. We would like to especially thank the Volunteers who helped us conduct this Championship.

The golf season is upon us as we prepare for the arrival of warm, Spring weather. Our first Club event in April is the Masters Draw on Saturday and Sunday, April 12 and 13. You may play in your own foursome either day. Pick a player who makes the cut and combine your net score with his gross score. The entry fee is $10.00 per player.

With Spring just around the corner, we are preparing the golf course for the upcoming season with normal maintenance procedures. Core aeration and the process of dry ject will temporarily disrupt the putting surfaces for a short time. This process begins on Monday, February 25th. We look forward to exceptional putting surfaces by early April.

August Grounds Update

The weather in July has been good to us. The return of some rain and cooler temperatures has been very beneficial for the turf. At this time we are verticutting the fairways and around the greens. This process consists of using vertical cutting blades set approximately ¼” into the top of the turf.
